A private journey, for women travelling together

Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur · Penang · Langkawi

Seven nights · Eight days

The difference

What makes this trip.

The moments a fixed departure can't reach: private, named, and ours alone to arrange.

01

Female guides, arranged ahead

At each stop, organised before you land, chosen for knowledge first.

02

The Nyonya matriarchs

Penang's defining cuisine is a grandmother's inheritance; you cook it in one of their kitchens.

03

Clan houses and shophouses

Georgetown's streets read by a guide who grew up between them.

04

Batik, hands-on

Wax and dye at a working Penang studio, and a length of cloth that goes home with you.

05

The Datai to finish

Three nights where a ten-million-year-old rainforest runs down to the sand.

The journey

For women, together

Malaysia for women travelling together runs on its kitchens, and its kitchens run on matriarchs: Nyonya cuisine is a grandmother's inheritance, and this route eats accordingly. Kuala Lumpur, Penang and the Datai's rainforest coast, with female guides arranged ahead, rooms placed deliberately, and one contact at any hour.

The towers from the park
Highlights
Met at the gate
Kampung Baru with a female guide
The towers at blue hour

Met at the gate and delivered to rooms placed as requested above KLCC park. The city introduces itself through its food: Kampung Baru's stalls with a female guide who has eaten at them since childhood, the Indian kitchens of Brickfields, and the towers at blue hour when the whole city comes out to look up. Two nights, no hurry, and a guide who refuses on your behalf politely.

Clan houses and batik

A short flight north to Penang and the E&O's seafront colonial calm. Georgetown belongs to its shophouses and clan houses, walked slowly with a guide who grew up between them, but the heart of the stop is a Nyonya kitchen: Peranakan cuisine is a grandmother's inheritance, taught at home, and cooking it beside one of its keepers is the day the trip is named after. A batik studio takes an afternoon, wax and dye and a length of cloth that goes home with you.

The bay under the canopy
Highlights
The short hop to the island
A naturalist's forest walk
The mangroves at idle speed

The short flight lands you inside a different register entirely: The Datai, folded into a rainforest ten million years old above its own white bay. A naturalist walks the forest each morning for those who want it read tree by tree; a boat day threads the Kilim mangroves at idle speed. Afternoons return to the bay and the spa in its ravine, and dinner arrives with the forest turned up to full volume.
